Wincor/Nixdorf
Beetle iPOS

In retailing, and in catering in particular, there is a trend toward so-called "all-in-one terminals". "All-in-one" means that the CPU, power supply unit and flat panel display are all accommodated in one housing. There are various housing concepts in the terminals currently available on the market. There are systems in which the power supply unit and the CPU are located in the base, or in some cases only the power supply unit.

Another variant, also found in the iPOS, is where the complete system is mounted directly behind the flat panel display. As can be seen from the above picture, the base serves only as a stand and in the basic version does not include any additional functionality. The advantage of such a variant is that it has a very compact design, requires very little internal cabling, and it is possible to provide additional options (swipe card reader, chipcard reader, speakers, motion sensor) in the base to tailor the system to various market segments. To meet the needs of the catering industry in particular, the system is splashproof.

The components used are essentially derived from the BEETLE system family. The compact dimensions of the overall system impose certain restrictions.

The range of interfaces and CPUs offered show how well the system fits into the existing BEETLE family.
